Strawberry Season Hits MD!

This past week farms all over Maryland opened up for strawberry season! This is on of my (cindy) favorite springtime activities that I had yet to do in Maryland! 

So after some researching (and some help from a wonderful fellow Baltimore mom blogger (Cool)Progeny ) and gettin some recomendations from some wonderful coworkers and MD natives, we found our farm, Baugher's Orchard in Westminster! And the Silver Spring, Lutherville and Fed Hill Desi's set out to adventure on the farm! 

When all was said and done we were a little sweaty and tired from the sun... but we had a lot to show for it ;-)

and although we'd been munchin on strawberries all morning, we saved plenty of room for lunch at the restaurant also managed by the orchard

Much fun was had by all! I sense a new spring time tradition at least for this crew!

Teenage Troubles Striking Early?!

We thought we would be able to wait until the teen years to deal with the running away. But because we were cursed blessed with a daughter and Cindy was jinxed to have one just like her its no surprise that its started a little early

 Robin recently has taken to opening the front door and proclaiming she's leaving "Bye Bye, see ya later!" We figure we should at least make sure she doesn't leave the block ;-)

Eventually we convinced her living rent free at our house was worth it... that and the free popsicles from our neighbors ;-)

Lets just hope it still works when she's 16 ;-)

Future American Idol or Glee Cast Member

Its no secret that Robin LOVES to sing. She sings to her baby dolls, sings when she is supposed to be napping, sings in the car, sings along with Mickey. Its hysterical because she gets almost all the words wrong, skips letters in the alphabet, and it is clear from an early age that she is tone deaf.

So one of two things will happen, we'll encourage this "talent" and she'll be one of those kids on American Idol someday whose family told her she was AMAZING her whole life and then she becomes a YouTube sensation (for the wrong reasons). Or we squash her dreams early and teach her that signing is really only for the shower. 

Since she's two, and nothing needs to be decided now, we'll just save all these videos to either be shown on E True Hollywood Story or humiliate her when she's 16 :-)

We're Big Fans

Of cupcakes around here ;-)

Especially ones from a cute little cupcake shop in our neighborhood ;-)

And as our sights turn to summer and a special little almost 2 year olds' birthday party, a photo shoot for invitations was in order. We had so much fun we thought we would share the outtakes ;-)

Best $3 Ever Spent...

Most people who know me know I love love love our Federal Hill Kids neighborhood listserv... it helped us find Robin's new best friend Ari (and our amazing nanny share), countless hand me down clothes, little people toys, recommendations for repairmen and exterminators and now Robin's favorite new toy...

It was hard explaining to a 22 month old why a baby that operates on batteries doesn't need to take a bath, but the baby did eat dinner at the table, chase bubbles outside and it currently watching Mickey Mouse...

You Know its a Good Mail Day When

There are two things that come in thick white envelopes that folks get excited about... college acceptance letters and wedding invitations...

And since Chip is already working on his master's degree, Cindy isn't hitting the books anytime soon, and Robin's still gotta get through kindergarten it must be the other one!

And you could figure out whose it was without even reading the invite, the bling itself said it all ;-)

But just to be clear ;-)

In 8 weeks Cindy gets another amazing sister in law to make up for her year's surrounded by the boys and Chip loses his official status as the only Paige child-in-law

Robin gets another aunt to spoiler her rotten :-) :-) :-)

Adventures in grocery shopping with Robin Evelyn

First off, we shop at Target, which is already dangerous enough for Cindy, but throw Robin in the mix and its downright TROUBLE

First we have to survive the $1 section... and when our lil girl picks this... 

well its a tomboy momma's dream come true! So begins the extra unnecessary purchases and we're only 10 feet past the door

And then there's the bottom of the grocery cart, typically used for storing soda, larger items... or in Robin's case when we aren't looking, three extra boxes of cheese-its, a plethora fruit snacks, or today...

She was recently introduced to cheese puffs by uncle Steve... and lets just say he's created a monster (and yes she carried that package of sports balls the entire time we were shopping)

Yea, we should probably strap her in the grocery cart,it would save us some money and time but that's no fun ;-)
